Why it matters

  • VeEX unveils the FX95 automated bidirectional MPO OLTS at SCTE TechExpo 2026, September 29–October 1, Atlanta, GA (booth #B379).
  • The FX95 uses two meters with native MPO-24 APC interfaces to automatically measure bidirectional insertion loss, length and polarity, supporting MPO-24/12/8 and duplex cables.
  • Its NoApp QR-code documentation feature is covered by US Patent 12,190,199; VeEX has not yet disclosed availability or pricing.

The story

Test equipment vendor VeEX will show its new FX95 automated bidirectional multi-fibre optical loss test set (OLTS) publicly for the first time at SCTE TechExpo 2026, running September 29 to October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. The company is positioning the instrument at cable operators and contractors facing growing volumes of high-density MPO cabling in data centre, AI and broadband plant.

The FX95 takes a specific technical approach to Tier 1 certification: it uses a pair of meters, each with a native MPO-24 APC optical interface, to automatically measure bidirectional insertion loss. That eliminates the adapters and manual re-orientation that conventional single-meter or lower-port-count instruments require when certifying multi-fibre trunks. According to VeEX, the platform also measures length and polarity automatically and reports a Pass/Fail indicator per test.

The instrument supports MPO-24, MPO-12, MPO-8 and duplex cables. VeEX says a particular strength is fast certification of trunk cables built from layers of ribbon cables, which produce very high fibre-strand counts — a common configuration in modern hyperscale and AI data centre builds.

Documentation via QR code

One differentiating feature is VeEX's NoApp technology, covered by US Patent 12,190,199. It uses a QR code to pull up test documentation without requiring technicians to install or maintain a companion application. For operators managing large contractor workforces, that addresses a real friction point: the administrative overhead of collecting, storing and auditing certification records across mixed fleets of test equipment.

The pitch is straightforward: reduce certification labour while improving testing consistency across MPO-based networks. Those claims come from the vendor and reflect its positioning; independent performance data has not yet been published, and the product debuts at a trade-show demonstration stage rather than through announced operator deployments.

Target markets

VeEX lists the FX95's key applications as:

  • Data centre cabling certification
  • AI and cloud infrastructure deployments
  • Broadband network construction
  • Fibre distribution hub validation
  • Enterprise and campus fibre installations

The breadth of that list signals where demand for multi-fibre certification is concentrated. AI infrastructure builds in particular are driving high-strand-count ribbon trunks, and cable operators' ongoing fibre deep and distributed access architecture programmes keep fibre distribution hubs a steady source of Tier 1 test volume.

The hardware is built for field use: a compact, rugged platform suitable for both data centre and outside plant environments, with what VeEX describes as a simple workflow aimed at field technicians and contractors rather than lab specialists.

Trade-show debut

Visitors to TechExpo 2026 can see live demonstrations of the FX95 at VeEX booth #B379. The event, organised by SCTE — the Cable Industry's technology association — runs from September 29 through October 1 in Atlanta.

With the FX95 unveiled at booth stage rather than in commercial shipment, the next milestone to watch is general availability and pricing, which VeEX has not yet disclosed.
